M V VALKYRIE
Vessel Overview
The M.V. Valkyrie is the flagship workboat of the Valkyrie Diving fleet. Measuring 13.35m in length with an expansive 5.80m beam, this steel catamaran provides an exceptionally stable, spacious, and adaptable working deck for marine civil engineering, subsea inspections, and dive support operations. Equipped with a forward Grove M977 hydraulic deck crane (1.5t lift at 6m reach), a stern A-frame with a 2t Safe Working Load (SWL), and a 4-point mooring system, the Valkyrie functions as a highly stable, heavy-lifting work platform capable of mobilizing specialized deck cargo including towing gear, ROVs, concrete pumps, and dredging grabs.
Capabilities & Specifications
Coded under Workboat Code 3 (Category 2, licensed for operations up to 60 miles from a safe haven), the vessel is powered by twin 150hp Gardner engines delivering a steady 8-knot operating speed with an efficient fuel burn of approximately 45 liters per hour. She carries an onboard 50 KVA generator delivering 3-phase 440V, 240V, and 110V power directly to the deck to run heavy subsea tooling and surface equipment.
Primary Dive & Navigational Equipment
Built specifically for commercial marine operations, the Valkyrie houses an inbuilt 2-man diving spread with 2 x 150m surface-supplied umbilicals, an HP air bank (12 x 50-liter 200bar bottles), and an LP Bauer 320e compressor. The wheelhouse contains an integrated dive communications and video logging suite featuring a 32" monitor for real-time client viewing. Her navigation suite includes dual satellite navigation systems, radar, chart plotter, sonar, auto-pilot, depth sounder, AIS, and VHF radio.
Safety & Emergency Response
Operating to strict marine safety protocols, the vessel carries complete Category C medical packs, 6-man Plastimar (RORC) and 8-man Beaufort liferafts, 14 light-equipped lifejackets, grab bags with thermal protection, rocket and hand flares, multiple MOB lifebuoys, and a full suite of CO2, foam, and dry powder fire suppression systems.
